Financial Advisor vs. Financial Coach
It is important to distinguish the difference between a financial advisor and a financial coach. Both are necessary to have in your corner as you work your way toward building wealth.
Financial advisors are professionals who have earned the appropriate certifications to manage an individual’s assets and build investment portfolios. Advisors will help to guide you in choosing the best mutual funds to balance your portfolio in a way that will maximize your returns and minimize your risk. Typically, financial advisors are less involved with the day to day aspects of money and play a more hands-off role.
Financial Coaches are not required to have any type of certification, so you must be cautious when choosing one. I have a Financial Coach Master Training certification through Ramsey Solutions. As I a financial coach, my focus is to walk with you through your unique circumstances and help to create a plan to move towards a better future. We will look at debt reduction, retirement saving, college saving, building a budget, and estate planning.
Like any coach, financial coaches are there to provide the necessary information and motivation to improve your situation. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation and take the first step towards financial freedom.
Stay safe and stay well.
